Sushant Rewaskar

Sushant Rewaskar is a VP and Distinguished Engineer at Microsoft's Azure organization. With over 17 years of experience, he specializes in delivering highly scalable distributed systems and building high-performing teams focused on innovative solutions that enhance the scale, performance, and reliability of the cloud control plane.

Currently, Sushant leads several critical initiatives to optimize VM and container experiences in Azure, working closely with cloud-native and enterprise customers. His work includes architectural design for next-generation hardware, scaling Azure to support dynamic container/VM workloads, evolving the control plane to facilitate higher scale, and implementing innovative ML-based prediction systems that improve the performance and reliability of the overall platform.

Sushant earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where his research focused on TCP loss measurement and modeling. He has published in multiple conferences and holds more than 25 patents in cloud computing and distributed systems.
