2025 in Retrospect: our Dev Events Throughout the Year

Romania has a vibrant tech community. Every year, it gets bigger and more interested in getting connected and staying up to date with the latest trends in technology.

DevTalks Romania, DevTalks Cluj-Napoca, DevCon, Empower Tech, DevAfterWork are the go-to events for industry professionals to share insights and engage with their peers. Here, IT experts from all over the world connect, learn, and grow in their journey. 

The people joining us 

In 2025, we welcomed 14.500 attendees to our Dev events. From software developers, C-level professionals, to architects and programmers - they filled every corner of the expo areas. 

And as our stages and hands-on workshops were filled with IT experts and tech novices, the future generations of professionals also found their way at the dedicated TechEdu Areas of our conferences – staying curious and learning through fun activities. 

Throughout the year, more than 275 international and local speakers shared their expertise with the Dev Community — bringing real case studies, live demos, and new insights on topics ranging from AI and cybersecurity to DevOps, engineering, and automation. 

But they didn’t stop at the stage. Our speakers stayed with participants long after the sessions ended, answering questions, clarifying concepts, and making sure everyone walked away with practical, actionable knowledge they could use the very next day. 

Their contribution didn’t just inform our community — it impacted it. And to name a few of these voices – Teodora Musatoiu from OpenAI, Tejas Kumar from IBM, Katja Sirazitdinova from NVIDIA, Anders Lybecker from Microsoft, Jonathan Vila from Sonar, Glenn Anderson, Adam Bien – Java Champion. 

The DevTalks experience 

Over 150 industry giants stood behind our conferences this year — sparking bold conversations and helping us shape the future of technology, alongside thousands of attendees and top-tier speakers. 

And because we believe events should feel as good as they inspire, each edition pushed us to level up the experience - bringing new spaces and activities so you can enjoy memorable moments. 

24 stages. Hundreds of perspectives. One shared mission: creating a common playground for tech professionals.  

Our agenda was packed with future-shaping topics, curated to reflect where the tech world is heading. Whether attendees were exploring the newest tools, getting inspired, or dissecting real case studies, every stage offered something worth discovering.  

In addition to the hundreds of content sessions, we also created 23 dedicated spaces for hands-on learning and collaboration.  

Experts like Konstantin Pavlov from Twilio Inc., Mark Duiker from Diagrid, Ahmed Tikiwa from Disney went deep into AI Agents, Gemini, Dapr workflows in the Rounndtable Areas.  

The sessions took place throughout the events, gathering between 20-30 participants at every workshop. That’s over 600 IT experts choosing to sharpen their skills with local and international trainers.  

This year also brought seven DevAfterWork events with big companies like:  

• EveryMatrix, Vodafone Romania, Matrix42 in Bucharest  

• Betfair Development Center in Cluj-Napoca.  

Creating great opportunities to get insights into what technologies these companies are developing and get connected with like-minded individuals in the industry. 

2025 was also the year of introducing fresh initiatives - two brand-new events, each built together with a major tech player. 

Java Centric with BMW TechWorks Romania in Cluj-Napoca, and TechO(n) Conference with Amazon Development Center Romania in Bucharest. Just days apart, both brought high energy, new content, and new reasons for experts to meet face-to-face. 

As we end this chapter 

With every stage, partner booth, new participants, and expert speaker, we are reminded why the dev community is such a driving force in Romania. Because their support comes with growth and innovation. And we are grateful to be enablers of meaningful connections.
