DevTalks Cluj-Napoca 2025 in numbers

In such a vibrant city like Cluj, the 8th edition of DevTalks Cluj-Napoca became a catalyst, a meeting point, a moment of energy for the tech ecosystem. Our amazing community gathered on September 25th ready to exchange ideas, spark collaborations, and push the boundaries of what technology can achieve.

Over the years, DevTalks Cluj-Napoca has evolved from a local meetup into a must-attend regional tech event, at the heart of Transylvania – reaching 2500 of the local IT enthusiasts, with the support of our Main Partner, BMW TechWorks Romania.  

In numbers, this edition at Cluj Innovation Park meant:  

• Three content stages – the Main Stage, the Programming Stage, and for the second year, we brought the Java Stage.  

• More than 40 local and international speakers, hosting over 30 keynotes throughout the day. 

• An Expo-Area filled with 25+ partners 

• Two Roundtable Areas where 6 strong voices held interactive workshops throughout the day and filled the area with more than 25 attendees per session 

• Working and networking lounge powered by Xponential 

• Two coffee corners powered by Julius Meinl 

• Start-up Alley brought together by Cluj Startups 

And we couldn’t be more grateful to having grown into the most desired tech conference in Transylvania. 

Tech centered activities and keynotes 

The agenda mixes trend talks (future of AI, agents) with deep technical content (RAG, data federation, agent trust), being supported by many of our partners and international speakers from all over the world. Some of the most popular keynotes were about:  

1. Building Smarter AI: Production-Ready RAG for Real-World Applications by Ion-George Todoran - Principal AI Architect, PhD at BMW TechWorks Romania 

2. The Future of AI – Key Trends Shaping What’s Next by Katja Sirazitdinova - Senior Developer Advocate at NVIDIA 

3. Beyond the Agent Hype to Enterprise Ready: Trusted Agents at Scale by Adrian Tamas and Eusebiu Jecan – Principal Product Managers at UiPath 

4. How to Build AI-Native Tools to Enhance Your Productivity by Tejas Kumar - AI Developer Advocate at IBM 

5. High-Performance Spring Persistence by Vlad Mihalcea – Java Champion 

6. Code Quality in the AI era, needed more than ever by Jonathan Vila - Senior Developer Advocate at Sonar 

Learning filled the stages and reached the two Roundtable Areas, which were overflowing with passionate tech-savvy people.

The concept behind the Roundtable Area is based on the idea of an open space “Silent Party”, where the attendees wear headphones connected to the speaker’s microphone so they can listen to the workshop with no interruptions.  

We are very happy with the success of these technical workshops, all of them having been full of participants, and more. It only shows how passionate our Cluj Community is about learning. 

And since we mentioned learning, we must bring your attention to the TechEdu Area next. Three incredible partners made the area a special place for over 50 kids throughout the day. We are thankful to Team Xeo, Bricks4Kids, and Codemy for bringing a variety of robotics and programming activities for the curious minds of the children of our participants and the AfterSchool programs who joined us this year.

The Expo Area was buzzing with energy 

More than 25 partners created networking opportunities and a great atmosphere at their booths, with fun activities and deep insights into emerging trends.

DevTalks Cluj-Napoca is the place where our vibrant community gather to share insights and experiences, to reconnect, and stay updated to the changes in tech scene.  

That’s why we will meet again next year, on September 24^th.
