# Can you introduce yourself in a few words? 

Hello, I am a Senior Global IoT Cybersecurity Specialist at AWS working within AWS IoT service team. I have extensive expertise in the field of Internet of Things (IoT) security. My role involves developing and implementing comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IoT ecosystems. I possess a deep understanding of emerging technologies, network architectures, and protocols, allowing me to proactively identify vulnerabilities and design robust security solutions. By staying abreast of the latest industry trends and threat landscapes, I strive to provide cutting-edge guidance and support to organizations in securing their IoT deployments. Through my knowledge and experience, I work towards enabling a secure and resilient IoT environment for businesses worldwide. 

# What is the favourite part of your job? 

As a Senior Global IoT Cybersecurity Specialist, my favorite part of the job is the constantly evolving challenges presented in the field, allowing you to stay intellectually stimulated. I find fulfillment in making impactful contributions by protecting IoT devices and systems from cyber threats, knowing that my work helps safeguard businesses and individuals. Additionally, i enjoy the technical complexity involved in unraveling vulnerabilities and designing robust security measures in intricate IoT ecosystems. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and staying at the forefront of technology further adds to your job satisfaction. 

  # How has the industry changed in the last 5 years? 

The IoT industry has undergone significant changes over the past five years. It has witnessed rapid growth and expansion, with the number of connected devices and IoT deployments increasing exponentially. This proliferation has resulted in a broader adoption of IoT technologies across various sectors, including healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, and smart cities. Additionally, advancements in edge computing and cloud infrastructure have enhanced the scalability and processing capabilities of IoT systems. However, this expansion has also introduced new cybersecurity challenges, prompting a greater focus on IoT security measures and the need for robust authentication, encryption, and data protection protocols. Overall, the IoT industry has transformed into a more mature and interconnected ecosystem, driving innovation, automation, and digital transformation across industries while simultaneously emphasizing the importance of ensuring privacy and security in this interconnected world. 

  # If you had to sum up your career in one sentence, what would you say? 

I love the journey leading upto this point and I won’t change a thing 😊 

  # If you could invent any piece of technology that doesn't currently exist, what would it be and why? 

AI controlled IoT Robot which can carry out medical surgeries in remote of places where medical resources are sparse. 

  # What has been your favorite event of the last year so far and why? 

I enjoy and love presenting at DevTalks Romania and this being my second time here I’m super excited to present and looking forward on rubbing shoulders with best of minds in industry. 

  # If you had to predict one major technological breakthrough that will revolutionize the world in the next decade, what would it be? 

AI + IoT = AIoT this will enhance human life and make mundane tasks redundant. 

  # If you could time-travel to any point in history with a piece of modern technology, where would you go and what would you bring? 

If I could time travel to any point in history with a piece of modern technology, one intriguing destination might be ancient Egypt during the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Bringing back a high-resolution 3D scanner or a drone equipped with advanced imaging capabilities would allow us to capture precise measurements, detailed imagery, and topographical data of the pyramid and its surroundings. This information could provide valuable insights into the construction techniques, architectural design, and historical context of one of the most iconic structures in human history. Additionally, it could potentially help unravel some of the mysteries and theories surrounding the pyramid's construction, such as the exact method used to align its massive stone blocks or the presence of hidden chambers. 

  # If you could switch careers with anyone for a day, who would it be and why? 

Doctor, as I was going to be a doctor but with X86 computer gifted to me by my father changed my course of education and career path 😊 

# What is your message for our Romania IT community? 

Welcome to the dynamic and ever-evolving field of IT! As you embark on your journey in this exciting industry, I want to emphasize the critical importance of cybersecurity, particularly in the realm of IoT. The proliferation of connected devices presents immense opportunities for innovation and convenience, but it also introduces significant security risks. My advice to you is to make cybersecurity a top priority from the very beginning. Develop a solid foundation in network security, encryption, and vulnerability assessment techniques. Stay curious, continuously update your knowledge, and never stop learning. As technology advances, so do the methods and tactics of cybercriminals. Embrace a proactive mindset, anticipate emerging threats, and be prepared to adapt and respond swiftly. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are key, so engage with the cybersecurity community, attend conferences, and participate in relevant forums. By prioritizing cybersecurity and staying ahead of the curve, you will play a crucial role in securing our interconnected world and ensuring a safe and resilient future for IoT technologies.
