We started this project in 2015 because we wanted to prove that with a strong passion for technology and hard work, our awesome IT community can come up with the most innovative project ideas!
This October, we want to challenge you again!
For this 3rd edition we are expecting even more adventurous projects! We want you to explore any and every challenge you or your friends or family might face in your daily lives and come up with the most innovative solutions for those challenges, thus redefining our local reality.
If you believe in your team, you think your idea is innovative or you simply want to test your skills, you’re the right participant for this hackathon!
We will unleash this intense competition on October 27. For 24 hours, we challenge you to use your innovative ideas and technical skills to unlock these themes:
1st challenge powered by MetroSystems: Smart shopping experience – what’s next after the Cash&Carry concept? Find an idea of how would you see the retailing experience in the years to come. How would you see a better B2B shopping experience?
2nd challenge powered by Accenture:
At the Accenture Technology track, you’ll be able to create an interaction simulator that will focus on collaboration, strategy and gender diversity. The exact topic will be unveiled to you at the event, but keep in mind: there are no limitations of the type of technology you’ll need to use! So we invite you to be creative and use your best thinking on your project. We will also appreciate the impact, design, usability and automation (DevOps) of the projects and award the best solution!
3rd challenge powered by HIPO
What’s next for HIPO or our IT events? You can choose HIPO (the career portal) or IT events area to come up with an idea implementing progressive web app, AI, blockchain, IoT or whatever you see fit. Freestyle!
Great Mentors & Investors
This DevHacks will gather mentors from MetroSystems, Accenture, mentors like Cristian Orasanu, Cosmin Ochisor, Matei Dumitrescu, Robert Knapp, Sergiu Negut, guys from RoboChallenge, Symme3D and many others who will support you during your coding hours. Take into consideration that they can also like the idea and you can gain a long term supporter!
Gadgets and cool areas
So, we will bring along cool gadgets from Symme3D, Onyx Beacon and PC Garage will have a gaming area when you will need to relax a bit. Playwing will bring Raspberry Pi3, Webcam, 3 Smartphones, LEDs and most probably some google glasses and smartwatches.
The Hackathon with an impactful purpose
Will you be able to build something that is usable by the end of DevHacks. This is the real practice in using the ability to get rid of features quickly if you anticipate that it cannot be done by demo time.
Ability to learn as fast as you can
When you have multiple developers in the team with different skill sets, somebody has to learn a new language on the spot. Also this is a good reason to try something new (a new language/framework).
Working under limited time
You won’t get that much sleep. You need to code your ass off to get something done for the demo.
Prizes, fun, good food & friends
Maybe the best combination. If you expect to make new friends, have fun and win the big prize, you will be likely satisfied with the result.
Java Senior Developer. Domains of interest: Mobile App development, Software architecture.
